MUSEO ANTONIO LIGABUE

From Wednesday 8 November 2023 until Sunday 18 February 2024, the Revoltella Museum – Gallery of Modern Art in Trieste hosts a prestigious anthological exhibition dedicated to Antonio Ligabue, for the first time in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The exhibition presents over 60 works, displayed in a chronological path curated by Francesco Negri and Francesca Villanti, to tell the different stages that marked the art and life of Antonio Ligabue.
Among the masterpieces on display are Carriage with horses and Swiss landscape (1956-1957), Self-portrait with red scarf (1952-1962) and Portrait of Marino (1939-1952), alongside a section dedicated to graphic production with drawings and engravings such as Hyena (1952-1962) and Horse with Donkey (1952-1962) and a section dedicated to the artist’s troubled human story.
The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Trieste – Department of Culture and Tourism Policies and is produced and organized by Arthemisia in collaboration with the Municipality of Gualtieri, the Antonio Ligabue Museum Foundation, with the support of the Trieste Convention and Visitors Bureau PromoTurismo FVG.
